NewGen did not start with a logo or a contractor's license. It started years earlier, with Adonay watching his father work.
He began as a painter and kept learning. One trade became another, and over time, the work grew with him.
Years later, Adonay would come up through the trades much the same way: painting first, then drywall, then learning how to run the entire job.
He went on to run crews of his own, including work throughout Coronado.
He taught the trades the same way he practiced them: hands-on. You learned by doing the work beside him, and if something was not right, you went back and made it right.
He put down the family's contracting roots in Idaho before Adonay carried the work forward in California.
Today, NewGen's presence in both states traces back to the road he opened.
He also taught trade workshops to students at Idaho State University.
For him, knowing the work meant passing it on: first to the people working beside him, then to students, and eventually to his own son.
His father set the standard. Adonay carries it forward.
Adonay grew up on job sites. He started with painting, moved into drywall, and eventually began running jobs himself. In 2018, he started putting the business behind the work into place. Today, he leads NewGen as a California General B contractor, with the ability to carry projects from planning and permitting through construction.
And he stays involved.
When you call NewGen, you are not handed off to a salesperson. Adonay comes out to the property, talks through the project with you, and stays reachable throughout the work. Remodeling questions do not always happen between 9 and 5, and he believes homeowners should be able to reach the person actually responsible for their project.
Every estimate starts with a free in-person walkthrough. We measure the space, look at existing conditions, talk through what you want to change, and put the scope into writing. If something changes once work begins, you know what it costs and approve it before that work moves forward.
Adonay grew up learning his father's trade. Today, that experience is carried into every project NewGen takes on.

NewGen itself is the newer chapter. We would rather be clear about that than stretch the company's history to make it sound older than it is. The experience came first. NewGen is what Adonay has built from it.

The California General B classification allows NewGen to contract for and oversee qualifying building projects involving multiple trades, including the type of remodeling, addition, and ADU work we specialize in.
Yes. NewGen is bonded and carries general liability insurance. We are happy to provide documentation before your project begins.
Yes. NewGen provides a one-year warranty on our labor.
Materials, fixtures, appliances, and other products may also carry their own manufacturer warranties. We will let you know what applies to the products selected for your project.
Yes. For projects that require architectural drawings or permitting, NewGen can coordinate that process as part of the project.

Adonay has completed project-management training through Turner Construction, and NewGen participates in a Behr paint partnership through Home Depot.
